The Miramichi River has long been famous for it's Atlantic Salmon fishing. Here, on the headwaters, we have the advantage of a number of public pools, with very little fishing pressure. We can cast and wade our part of the river as well. Float trips are an excellent way to fish the more remote sections of the river.
Our salmon are a little later getting to us, but they stay in our pools the rest of the summer. This gives us a chance to fish the same fish more than once. We also have a native brookie that has a run during early June and September, which is an excellent game fish. These fish weigh 2-6 lbs. and they, like the Atlantic Salmon, come in to spawn and go back to sea. With our many lakes and streams, we have an abundance of beaver ponds for our regular small brookies. Our guests have found this to be a lot of fun.
